Candyland – Murda (Original Mix)

Candyland was one of my favorite duos, first comprised of Josie Martin and Ethan Davis when they started out. They unfortunately split up earlier this year with Josie still taking on the name. Some of the songs I first heard from the two of them a while back include remixes of the Bingo Players’ “Rattle“, Major Lazer and Flux Pavilion’s “Jah No Partial“, and Darude’s “Sandstorm“.

With Martin taking on the name solo now, she shows that it’s in good hands with a new trap tune out now called “Murda”. The bass heavy track was released from SMOG Records, the label operated by noted bass DJ and producer 12th Planet. The Santa Barbara native throws down some hip hop vocals on top of a pounding bassline. She’s also not slowing down anytime soon, because next month she has another track coming out on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records.
