If you haven’t heard of Martin Garrix’s “Animals” by now, you haven’t been living under a rock…you’ve been living under a giant, humongous boulder. If you haven’t heard Dirty Palm’s Melbourne house remix of the tune, it might be a little more acceptable, but it’s still a pity. If you haven’t listened to Frisson’s mash up called “Martin Garrix – Animals + Dirty Palm Remix vs. Oompa Loompa”, you are really missing out on an fresh take of the hit song.
I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical when I saw Oompa Loompa in the title, thinking of how the heck Steve Moore and Caitlin Callahan could integrate this sound bite seemingly from left field into a track that wouldn’t make my ears bleed. The Orange County duo did a surprisingly good job incorporating parts from Garrix’s original mix, Dirty Palm’s remix, and the Oompa Loompa bit.
