Nilson vs. Helena – Whattup! (Original Mix)
I’ve recently just started getting into some of Helena’s productions, especially with her previous original mix called “Breathe”. This turns out to be a pretty good thing because she has a collaboration that was released a few days ago with Nilson called “Whattup!”. Helena was born in the United Kingdom, raised in Australia, and is now based in Los Angeles, giving her a world of experience and inspiration to draw from. Nilson, also known as Niels van de Pavert, is from The Netherlands, a country with a rich history in producing amazing producers (pun intended).
“Whattup” was first premiered on Nicky Romero’s Protocol Radio Episode 76 that was played near the end of January. The song from Big & Dirty Recordings has a driving melody that got stuck in my head within minutes. Right before the drop, the vocals say “Yo, whattup!”, but it’s kinda heard to hear it when you’re already raging out to this heavy track!
