Oliver Helden’s first episode of Heldeep Radio was put out a few days ago, a mix that is full of deep house gems. The Dutch producer lists Headhunterz, Hardwell, Bingo Players, Fedde Le Grand and Vato Gonzalez among some of his early influences, an interesting fact considering his current style compared to that of the aforementioned names.
The 19 year old is probably best known for his hit single “Gecko”, which I somehow managed to not write about on this site…boo me. Anyways, here’s what he has to say about how he was noticed in an interview with djz.com: “Spinnin’ Records found me online on SoundCloud, and the first tracks I released on Spinnin’ were supported by Tiesto. Tiesto started to follow me on Twitter, so I could ‘direct message’ him my new tracks. I sent him ‘Gecko’ and he replied within 15 minutes saying he wanted to sign it.”
An amazing way to start a career if you ask me. Included in this mix are tunes by Cazzette, Tchami, Bingo Players, Don Diablo, and of course, Oliver Heldens.
