Pendulum (DJ Set) – September 18 (Exchange, Los Angeles)
When I heard that Pendulum was going to be playing at Exchange in Los Angeles, I just about lost my breath. Although it may only be a DJ set, this is an amazing chance to see a legendary drum and bass group in dance music. When the guys last stopped touring, the group consisted of Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen, Peredur ap Gwynedd, Paul ‘El Hornet’ Harding, KJ Sawka, and Ben Verse, though I don’t think all the guys will be there. From what I’ve gathered, Hornet and Verse still perform the DJ sets.
Anyways, it’s a great chance to hear some classic tracks from the Australian/British group, such as “Slam“, “Blood Sugar“, “Granite“, and “Crush“. And if you really want to throw it back, check out their Essential Mix from July 17, 2010. At the bottom of this post is the tracklist for the mix, which has some old favorites of mine such as Doctor P’s remix of “Sick“, Sub Focus’ remix of “Hold On“, and Sigma’s “Baltimore“.
I’ve looked up some of their live performances when the whole group was together and they put on quite a show. It’ll be interesting to see how a DJ set compares to it. Performing alongside Pendulum will be Mayhem, Hazen, and Roxanne. The show goes from 10pm till 3am at the 21+ show on Thursday, September 18. Tickets are currently at an amazing $20 as of now, so get them while it’s cheap!
