Jason Ross – Cairo (Original Mix)

When Above & Beyond names someone as their Breakout Producer of 2014, it should be a given that it’s a good idea to pay attention to said artist. That strong statement was said about rising producer Jason Ross, who’s been on quite the hot streak since signing with the Anjunabeats record label. In November, his original mix “Elements” was named Record Of The Week on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 102. Last month, he topped the Beatport trance chart in a collaboration with Wrechiski called “Atlas“, as well gaining another Record Of The Week distinction in ABGT 109.

“Cairo” looks to be on the right track as the third heavy hitter in the past four months for the Los Angeles based artist. And wouldn’t you know it, it also gained recognition as another Record Of The Week on ABGT 115. The trance tune progresses slowly before building up into a powerful percussion section with airy, yet mysterious vocals.

Ross has seen the support of some big names in the trance and progressive house world, including Armin van Buuren, Avicii, Mat Zo, Markus Schulz, and Fedde Le Grand. “Cairo” has been played by Ferry Corsten, Standerwick & Tekno, Super8 & Tab, and Cosmic Gate.
