Interview With Arty Ahead of L Festival on October 24 & 25

A Russian coming to Orange County for a Latin festival sounds like the beginning of a bad joke. But Arty will show that’s it’s all good when he performs at the L Festival this weekend Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25 at the OC Fair & Event Center. Artem Stolyarov has been supported by Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Axwell, Porter Robinson, Madeon, Wolfgang Gartner…the list goes on.

A few of my past favorites from Arty include “Together We Are” with Chris James, “When I See You“, “Must Be The Love” with BT and Nadia Ali, “Up All Night” with Angel Taylor, his remix of “Hey Now” by London Grammar, and his remix of “Lionhearted” by Porter Robinson and Urban Cone.

As the fourth interview in the series, we’ll talk out how his summer was, his new album “Glorious”, and what producers we should keep an eye on. Also, check out the past interviews with Far East Movement, D-wayne, and Tom & Collins.

Information regarding ticket prices can be found here.

How was your summer festival season?

As always, I had a really amazing time! Traveling between the U.S. and Europe was a lot of fun. I played many awesome shows and met a lot of my friends, it couldn’t be better.

What are you looking forward to most when you perform at the inaugural L Festival?

A great and diverse crowd, I would say. The main thing I care for is people out there to have a great time. If it goes this way, I’m gonna love this show!

Your album “Glorious” was released on October 9th. What went into the process in producing the album?

It took me two years to finish this album, so you can imagine that I’ve gone through a lot of changes as an artist, as a person and just as a human being. You can definitely tell when listening to my new tracks that I’ve been going in different directions with every song on my album. This record is a perfect reflection of the last couple years of my life.

Any notable producers or singers you collaborated with on it?

I don’t wanna mention just one person; all of the songwriters/singers I worked with are insanely talented and we had an amazing time working on those songs. I guess that’s the main reason why it flows really well from song to song in this album.

Which up and coming producers should we keep an eye on?

Halsey, Jauz and Haywyre are gonna be huge.

2015 summer anthem: As for my daily song, it was “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd. As for my live shows, one of my favorites this summer was “Heart” by Dubvision.

Best track to play at peak time: My remix for Porter Robinson “Lionhearted” goes well at peak time. 🙂

Unexpected remix to switch things up: The new Mat Zo remix made for The Knocks “Collect My Love” is the best option!

Vocalist you’d most like to work with: Chris Martin, Ryan Tedder or Abel Tesfaye.
