Read on for an interview with the guys as we talk about “Tight”, their time in the studio and on stage, and what we can expect from them this summer!

Hello guys, thanks for your time. Probably the first song that people know you from is your worldwide hit “Who!” with Tujmao back in 2012. What has been the biggest change for you guys since then?

Hey, well… “Who” was definitely a big one, getting played by ALL major DJs as well. Things haven’t changed too much. We are still touring world wide and playing a lot of festivals. But of course, you are getting more attention for your releases by the people out there and those A list guys.

Your new track called “Tight” with Strobe, Lazn, and Sapele has been an ID in many sets and radio shows since the beginning of this year. How hard was it keeping it on the down low that is was a Plastik Funk tune?

We thought the idea of getting it supported even before anyone knew who the original artist was, was a funny idea. Flamingo Recordings did an awesome job by promoting it in this special way! For us it was fun to see who was supporting the track even though they didn’t know whos track it was. Thanks to: Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, Fedde Le Grand, Don Diablo, Yves V, StadiumX, Ummet Ozcan and all those who played it already!!!

With Plastik Funk having been together for over a decade, how do you continue to keep your music fresh and intriguing?

As we are traveling a lot, we get a lot of different cultural influences from around the world. Including DJ sets by local resident DJs or just listening to regional radios. I guess this keeps our musical mind always fresh.

Do you guys have separate roles when it comes to producing and DJing, or do you collaborate equally in both aspects?

We both like doing everything. So we do not really divide roles.

What are you plans for the summer festival season?

We can’t wait for the summer to begin. Already locked in several festivals and summer residencies in Croatia, Ibiza and Lloret de Mar. Now, we just need some sunscreen, shades and a beach towel.

2016 future hit: Anything from Lost Frequencies and Robin Schulz. But also watch our for our new singles coming on Armada Deep 😉

Best track to play at peak time: Dave Winnel – Don’t Stop

Unexpected remix to switch things up: Galantis vs Strobe – One Day Runaway (Plastik Funk Mashup)

Vocalist you’d most like to work with: Adele or Bruno Mars
