deadmau5 – W:/2016ALBUM/ (Album) + Tour Dates

After confirming his album was “pretty much” finished in July, deadmau5’s seemingly random titled album “W:/2016ALBUM/” was released today. It’s been well documented that Joel Zimmerman is not a big fan of the finished product. When asked why he would release an album he wasn’t happy with, he answered in the most deadmau5 way: “COZ I GOT FUCKIN MAD BILLS.” Hey, those Ferrari’s, Nissan GT-R’s, and cube stage designs gotta be paid for somehow…

The 11 track album was released from his own record label mau5trap, home to some upcoming artists like REZZ, ATTLAS, and No Mana. As for the reason behind title of his eighth album, it’s pronounced “W Drive 2016 Album”, the location of the album on his computer. “4ware”, “Imaginary Friends”, “Let Go” featuring Grabbitz, “Snowcone”, and “Three Pound Chicken Wing” are a few of my favorites from the LP.

deadmau5 also announced that he will be embarking on his Lots of Shows in a Row Tour starting in March 2017. He’ll be playing two shows  in April at The Shrine in Los Angeles: one on Friday, April 28th and the following night on Saturday, April 29th.
