Fans of Solarstone have been anxiously waiting over five years for the follow up album to “Pure” in 2012. “.—-” is the mysterious morse code title of Richard Mowatt’s next album from Black Hole Recordings. The UK based artist has been perpetually engaged with his “Pure Trance” compilations and events, as well as his side project PureNRG with Giuseppe Ottaviani, before deciding to take a break and focus on this latest venture.
The album consists of eight tracks: “Leap Of Faith”, “Eclipse”, “Untitled Love” with Rabbii, “Choosing His Angels” with Alex Karweit, “Slowmotion IV” with Orkidea, “I Found You” with Meredith Call, “A State Of Mind”, and “Cafuné”. The trance titan takes us on a journey with sweeping synths, uplifting vocals, and dynamic melodies in the release from the legendary Dutch label.
Here’s what Solarstone has to say about the creation of the songs: “All of my favourite ‘coffee-table’ albums create an atmosphere. A vibe, which runs throughout, with no sudden fractious mood changes. Those are my go-to records when I’m in a certain state of mind; the ones I come back to and play over & over again. This is the intention with ‘. – – – -‘: to immerse the listener in a collection which stands up to, nay, even calls for repeated plays. The music comes from the deeper side of my sound and is the first signal of something altogether bigger.”
