Sub Focus – X-Ray (Metrik Remix)
When you take on a classic tune such as Sub Focus’ 2005 song “X-Ray“, you better make sure you do it right. Metrik pays tribute to the famed producer with a stunning 2017 version featuring crisp percussion while bringing back memories of the original. The song is part of the RAM Records 25 compilation album, “an album that revisits some of the label’s cult, scene-influencing tunes with remixes from some of the biggest and innovative names in the genre.” The album also features songs from Shimon, Wilkinson, Calyx & Teebee, Rene Lavice, Loadstar, Culture Shock, Fresh, Delta Heavy, DC Breaks, Chase & Status, S.P.Y., 1991, and Bladerunner.
Londoner Tom Mundell has this to say about his version of Sub Focus’ track: “It was a huge honour to be asked but also a big challenge to take on such an iconic record. I remember hearing it for the first time during an Andy C set at Fabric in my early years of going to raves and is one of the most influential tunes for me growing up.”
