RL Grime – Light Me Up ft. Miguel & Julia Michaels (QUIX Remix)
I mentioned a few of the remixes from RL Grimes’ “NOVA” remixes Volume 1 and 2 when I wrote about 1788-L’s version of “Era” last month. After a few more plays, I feel that QUIX’s remix of “Light Me Up” featuring Miguel and Julia Michales needed its own post. Jono Schnell throws in a bit of bass, some more bass, and then adds a handful of bass for good measure in his remix (don’t forget about the bass he sprinkles in as well!).
This was pretty much my reaction when I heard the first drop, and I’m willing to bet that it was the same for those who play the song for the first time. The New Zealand native also released his six track “Illusions” EP last month on Dim Mak, be sure to check that out!
RL Grime has played the song at a number of his shows in Dallas, Miami, Milwaukee, Australia, Philadelphia, and New York, with further support coming from Hydraulix and TYNAN.
