Cosmic Gate & Forêt – Need To Feel Loved (Extended Mix)
Cosmic Gate announced their new album called “Forward Ever, Backward Never” in November, with an accompanying tour of the same name. While the album is set to be released in the spring, the tour has been underway since the end of December, with a date at the Hollywood Palladium coming up on Friday, April 5th.
Claus Terhoeven (Nic Chagall) Stefan Bossems (DJ Bossi) have reworked Reflekt’s 2004 club classic “Need To Be Loved” which will be on the album. The German duos version features the vocals of Dutch singer Forêt with their well known progressive grooves, soft piano chords, and thumping beats. The tune was released through their own record label Wake Your Mind Records, a sublabel of the noted imprint Black Hole Recordings.
“The release of the original ran in almost complete parallel with a time our sound was undergoing its first significant change. During pre-production on “Earth Mover”, the depth and emotional complexity of “Need To Feel Loved” was highly influential on Nic & I. What was most important to us in reinterpreting it, was that we didn’t retrace any musical ground already covered. What we’ve come up with gives us the perfect new version to play on the 20 years tour!”
Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Tiesto, Markus Schulz, Andrew Rayel, Ferry Corsten, Shane 54, Andy Moor, Bobina, Fatum, DIM3NSION, and Alexander Popov have all played the song in their sets recently.
