It hasn’t quite been 84 years since the last NGHTMRE and SLANDER collaboration, but it’s sure felt like it. The boys are back together again, and this time enlist the soulful vocal talents of Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Matthew Santos in “Feeling Gud”. The song samples “Feeling Good” which has been recorded by a number of artists, including Nina Simone in 1965, Michael Bublé in 2005, Muse in 2010, Avicii in 2015, and Lauryn Hill in 2015.
NGHTMRE’s Tyler Marenyi and SLANDER’s Derek Andersen and Scott Land, all from Los Angeles, last worked together on “Gud Vibrations“, released in 2016 on Diplo’s label Mad Decent, which in turn launched a tour and record label of the same name. Their newest future bass collaboration with the Chicago based artist is available as a free download from their imprint.
The track has been played by NGHTMRE and SLANDER at Ubbi Dubbi in Texas, EDC Las Vegas, Bonnaroo in Tennessee, Electric Forest in Michigan, Ultra Europe in Croatia, Lost Lands in Ohio, and Audiotistic in San Bernardino. The song was also played by NGHTMRE and SLANDER on their 2019 The Alchemy Tour with Seven Lions and The Glitch Mob, in addition to NGHTMRE’s The Portal tour and SLANDER’s The Eye tour which are both currently taking place.
