i_o & Lights – AM 444 EP

On May 29, 2020 by ocedm

The final installment of i_o’s Project 444 series was released today in the form of “AM 444”, a four track EP in which he collaborates with noted vocalist Lights. The two originally met during deadmau5’s Cube V3 tour near the end of 2019, where they played five days in a row at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

Influenced by an underground venue in New York City that he stopped by in the early hours of the morning with some friends, Garrett Lockhart started off the series with “ACID 444” in November, which was inspired by the beginnings of warehouse techno. He followed that up with “NRG 444” in February, which has more driving and aggressive tunes.

The latest release from mau5trap in “AM 444” focuses on the melodic and progressive vibes as the night is winding down and the sun comes up. It consists of “Annihilation”, “Run”, “Drift Away”, and “Epilogue”, all of which feature the atmospheric and soothing vocals of Canadian singer Lights Poxleitner-Bokan. The set has already reached number one on Apple Electronic Albums, with “Annihilation” currently at number four on the Beatport Top 10 Progressive House chart.

The Los Angeles based artist recently played “Annihilation” during his EDC Las Vegas Virtual Rave-A-Thon set a few weeks ago. Label head deadmau5, Armin van Buuren, R3hab, and Markus Schulz have supported various tracks from the EP in their respective radio shows.

Lights has previously appeared on songs like “No One Knows Who We Are” by Kaskade and Swanky Tunes, “Zero Gravity” by Borgeous, “Falling Away” by Seven Lions, “Drama Free” deadmau5, “Love Me” by Felix Cartal, and “Amateurs” by Sleepy Tom.
