Tensnake ft. Boy Matthews – Somebody Else (Eli & Fur Remix)
Eli & Fur have put their melodic house spin on “Somebody Else” by Tensnake featuring Boy Mattthews, which is out now on Armada Music. London based artists Eliza Noble and Jennifer Skillman use soft piano chords and ethereal melodies in their version while still showcasing the vocals of the British singer/songwriter. If he sounds like a familiar voice to you, he was the singer on “Ocean Drive” by Duke Dumont that was released in 2015.
The duo say that “It’s been great to be part of this release. We have been fans of Tensnake for a while now and have worked with Boy Mathews before who’s voice and songwriting we love. When we took on the remix we wanted to make something darker and suited to the club, something we could play in our sets that was high energy but still kept the emotion of the vocal melody which we love. So far we have only been able to play it on live streams but can’t wait to test it out in a big space.”
Near the end of last month, Eli & Fur closed out their Factory 93 Livestream with the remix. Hardwell, Sultan + Shepard, Futuristic Polar Bears, Alexander Popov, and The Aston Shuffle have all played the tune as well.
In addition to releasing songs on their own label NYX Music, Eli & Fur have seen their tracks on labels like Anjunadeep, Toolroom Records, Cr2 Records, Defected Records, Coldharbour Recordings, and ARVA.
