As_Is – Eclipse EP
“Eclipse” is the title of the third EP from the Michigan based electronic duo As_Is. Aaron Schwallier and Ian McIntyre include “Early Mornings”, “Revolt”, “Self Destruct” (previously released in August), and “Awakening Darkness” in the set. Heavy basslines, spacey sound effects, and pulsing beats are used in the tracks from the EP.
The guys say that “The idea for the EP came when contemplating the current state of our world. Darkness, decay, and destruction can be such a driving force in our everyday lives and can, at times, feel overwhelming. An eclipse elicits an image that is simultaneously dark and beautiful, one not able to exist without the other. Even when life seems clouded by malice, we hope the listener leaves finding the beauty that surrounds all things, much like the sun surrounds an eclipse.
Eclipse takes the listener on a sonic journey of lush soundscapes, energetic rhythms, and haunting melodic basslines that melds the two themes together seamlessly.”
