Ravenscoon – Rapid Eye Movements EP

This is somehow the first time I’m hearing about Ravenscoon, but I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on him in the future. The San Francisco based DJ and producer recently independently released his latest four track experimental bass EP titled “Rapid Eye Movements”. Paul Conversano, who is originally from Atlanta, includes “Nystagmus”, “Showin’ Out”, “Rapid Eye Movements”, and “Awake” featuring the haunting yet soft vocals of CASHFORGOLD, who is Los Angeles based singer and songwriter Jacqueline Torgerson by way of Detroit.

When describing his “Rapid Eye Movements” EP, Ravenscoon says that “I wanted it to feel like you were falling backwards into an endless beautiful abyss, surrounded by green energy.” By combining heavy basslines with ethereal melodies and mesmerizing synths, it’s easy to see why the production talents of Ravenscoon should be on your radar as well.

I couldn’t get enough of Ravenscoon in this EP, so I searched his SoundCloud for a mix or two and came across his Halloween Mix 2020 [Side A] and Halloween Mix 2020 [Side B]. In addition to his own originals, edits, flips, and IDs, he includes tracks from Excision, Shlump, Deadcrow, Kai Wachi, Jantsen, Crizzly, Xilent, LOUIEJAYXX, Sully, G Jones, MUZZ, Mefjus, 1991, Dimension, REAPER, Minnesota, S9, Wilkinson, Delta Heavy, Flite, and more in the three total hours.
