On March 15, 2021 by ocedm

Back in December 2018, noted drum and bass duo Fred V & Grafix announced they were parting ways to focus on their own solo careers. The pair were known for tracks like “Major Happy“, “Games People Play“, “Recognise“, their remix of “Icarus” by Madeon, and their remix with Sub Focus of “Endorphins” by Sub Focus featuring Alex Clare.

Fred V has two tracks of his own out now called “Icarus” and “Reaching Down” featuring Victoria Voss. Fred Vahrman, who is from Exeter in England, uses uplifting melodies and warm piano chords in “Icarus”. The dreamy and mesmerizing vocals of Voss complement the precise drum work in “Reaching Down” perfectly. The songs were released from Hospital Records, an imprint launched in 1996 by the London Elektricity duo in London.

Other recent tracks from Fred V include his five song “Proximity” EP, “Drowning In You” with Hybrid Minds, his four track “Distance” EP, “Hands Of Time”, and “You Keep Me High”.

Swedish-French artist Victoria Voss has quite the academic background in addition to being a singer and songwriter. She received a songwriting and music production degree from SAE Institute in Stockholm in 2016 and has worked with labels like Warner, Universal Music and BMG as a songwriter. Voss is now in the process of completing her PhD thesis in sustainability sciences at Stockholm University. She previously studied at Imperial College London and received her Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honours in Biology in 2011 and at University of Oxford where she earned her Master of Science degree with Distinction in Environmental Change & Management in 2013.
