VNSSA & Lenny Kiser – Sinking EP
VNSSA and Lenny Kiser are two familiar faces with Dirtybird, but their new two song “Sinking” EP marks the first time that they have worked together. The title track features the mesmerizing vocals of Newport Beach native Vanessa Barnes with tight percussion work, while “Cue The Rhythm” uses breakbeat vibes for a perfect old school rave feeling. The set was released from Claude VonStroke’s record label, which he started in 2005 and now has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Both VNSSA and Kiser each played a 30 minute guest mix on Claude VonStroke’s The Birdhouse 284 last week where they each played a song from the EP. Diplo, Wongo, Walker & Royce, and Pasquale Rotella have played tunes from the EP.
Los Angeles based VNSAA, who used to play drums in a few indie and rock bands, has been a regular on the livestream circuit over the past year. Be sure to check out her sets for Sian’s Insomniac Records Livestream Residency, Dirtybird Couchout 2020, and Nocturnal Wonderland Virtual Rave-A-Thon.
