Swedish House Mafia – It Gets Better (Original Mix)

On July 17, 2021 by ocedm

It’s been almost a decade since Swedish House Mafia released their final track as a trio in “Don’t You Worry Child” featuring John Martin in 2012. Soon after, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axwell announced their One Last Tour dates. I attended the March 9 2013 show at the Los Angeles Historic Park, which I believe was their third to last performance as a group.

Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axel Hedfors reunited in 2018 after a five year hiatus, but it was only this past Thursday that the group put out their first new song since 2012. “It Gets Better” marks the return to the studio for the trio and features thumping beats, percussive rhythms, and alluring vocals. It’s also their first release from Republic Records, a New York City based record label owned by Universal Music Group. Be sure to watch the music video below directed by Alexander Wessely.

Swedish House Mafia have opened their sets with their new tune at a number of shows around the world over the past two years, including Tele2 Arena in Sweden, Tinderbox in Denmark, Open’er Festival in Poland, Stavernfestivalen in Norway, Ultra Europe in Croatia, FM4 Frequency Festival in Austria, Zurich Openair in Switzerland, Creamfields in England, and Lollapalooza in Germany.

The track has received airplay on BBC Radio 1 from Annie Mac with Pete Tong, with further support from Diplo and ASCO.
