Metrik & Grafix – Overdrive / Parallel (VIP) EP
Drum and bass dons Metrik and Grafix have joined forces on “Overdrive” and a VIP of their previous collaboration in “Parallel” from Metrik’s 2020 album titled “Ex Machina“. A crisp snare, resonating basslines, and Metrik’s vocals are used in “Overdrive”, while the VIP version of “Parallel” features uplifting melodies and chopped vocals. The two songs were released on Hospital Records, which was started by London Elektricity in South London in 1996.
Grafix played their tunes on his Drum & Bass Sessions Mini-Mix for Ministry of Sound, with further support from Rene LaVice on his BBC Radio 1 Drum & Bass Show, Charlie Tee on Hospital Podcast 446, and Futurebound on Viper Radio 005.
London native Tom Mundell released his 13 track album called “Ex Machina” last June, which featured another collaboration with ShockOne titled “Dying Light” using Metrik’s soaring vocals and tight percussion.
Bristol based Josh Jackson’s remix of “Worlds Collide” by Koven was put out on Monstercat earlier this year, which combined stunning vocals with an energetic bassline.
