BLVD. & Laidback Luke – Cielo (Original Mix)

On August 18, 2021 by ocedm

A techno track from BLVD. and Laidback Luke is not what I expected when I saw their collaboration called “Cielo”. The Miami based artist is known for heavy trap songs like “Full Send”, “Crowd Control”, “Posterize” with Shaquille O’Neal, and “Miami” with Fatman Scoop. Favorite tracks of mine from Dutch artist Lucas van Scheppingen include “Pogo”, “1234” featuring Chuckie and Martin Solveig, “Show Me Love” with Steve Angello featuring Robin S., and his remix of “Heartbreaker” by MSTRKRFT featuring John Legend.

On a related side note, Laidback Luke did launch a techno alias earlier this year in DARK CHANELL, and has released a five track EP titled “No. 1”, “Sabotage”, and a two track EP called “New York Five-O” so far.

That being said, change is good and welcomed. The release from Hong Kong based Purple Fly features “the best elements of both techno and big-room melodies; it opens with a driving, deep bassline that gives way to goosebump-inducing ethereal vocals and cinematic synths, conjuring images of larger-than-life big room tracks that live forever in every raver’s memory.”

BLVD. says that “I’m so excited to present my collab with the legend Laidback Luke! It was an awesome experience to work with someone that has inspired me so much throughout my career. We took a lot of inspiration from the sounds of the Space Terrace in Miami and we hope you like this one!”

Laidback Luke played the song a few days ago on One World Radio 12, with further support from Timmy Trumpet, Afrojack, Blasterjaxx, Ferry Corsten, Dannic, Dada Life, Laidback Luke, Morgan Page, Firebeatz, Marcus Santoro, Zedd, Pasquale Rotella, Diplo, Showtek, Austin Kramer, ACRAZE, Felix Jaehn, Good Times Ahead, Gregor Salto, Jason Ross, Wiwek, Crizzly, D.O.D, and more.
