Jan Blomqvist – Back In The Taxi (AMÉMÉ Remixes)
After remixing “Cosa Buena” by Yamil & G.Zamora a couple weeks ago, Benin born and raised DJ and producer AMÉMÉ gives us not just one remix but also a Midnight Remix of Jan Blomqvist’s 2016 track “Back In The Taxi”. The remixes from Brooklyn based artist Hubert Sodogandji were recently released on Dutch label Armada Electronic Elements.
The first remix “peppers vibrant afro house percussion through the duration of the track’s effortless melodic progressions”, with the Midnight Remix featuring “eclectic, vibrant, yet deep, melodic sensibilities”… while “synth leads glisten across the track in articulate progressive house fashion.”
“When I met Jan Blomqvist last year, we automatically bonded over couple of things including the fact that we were both living in Berlin and then managed to link up,” says AMÉMÉ. “After sharing few stages and line ups, the idea of a collab emerged; my interest went straight to his original “Back In The Taxi” released in 2016, which helped me go through some rough times back then 6 years before we even met. Flash Forward to Today: I worked on two versions of my remix to showcase the range of my sound and give everyone something to play with.”
The remixes from the West African native have been supported on the respective radio shows of Paul Thomas on UV Radio 232 and Sultan + Shepard on Dialekt Radio 117.
Last month, AMÉMÉ had the guest mix on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Ave Radio 17.
