Anyma & Chris Avantgarde – Consciousness (Eric Prydz Remix)
Already a familiar track in his sets over the past few months, Eric Prydz’s remix of “Consciousness” by Anyma and Chris Avantgarde has been released. While the original was released in May, the famed Swedish DJ and producer wasted no time in playing his version since June at festivals like Creamfields South in England, Tomorrowland in Belgium, ÎleSoniq Music Festival in Canada, and CRSSD DAY.MVS XL in San Diego. The melodic and futuristic remix was put out on Afterlife, the imprint Tale Of Us (of which Anyma’s Matteo Milleri forms with Carmine Conte) founded in Berlin in 2016.
Supporters of the remix from the Grammy nominated artist include Oliver Heldens, CamelPhat, Adriatique, Armin van Buuren, Pete Tong, Andrew Rayel, Danny Howard, Markus Schulz, Gabriel & Dresden, Leftwing : Kody, Timmy Trumpet, and Fatum.
The first time I saw Eric Prydz live was back in 2012 at Identity Festival in San Diego (feel free to check out the recap I wrote about the festival for a blast from the past), where he played songs like his remix of Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus”, “Pjanoo”, “SW4” (under his Pryda alias), his remix of Digitalism’s “Circles”, and ”Allein” (under his Pryda alias).
