Eli Brown – Make You Freak (Original Mix)

On February 3, 2023 by ocedm

The first time I heard “Make You Freak” by Eli Brown was during John Summit’s set at EDC Las Vegas last year. Since that time, I’ve kept an eye out for any word on the release date of the banging techno tune. Eight months later, the track has officially been released from Adam Beyer’s record label Drumcode, which he started in 1996 in Sweden. Featuring dark warehouse vibes, plenty of acid, and a vocal sample of LFO’s 2003 track “Freak”, it’s only a matter of time before we hear this in more sets!

“This is a track I’m really excited about,” the Bristol native says. “It features a sample of an iconic club classic in LFO’s ‘Freak’, which I’ve been hammering in my sets for a while now. I think this could be the biggest techno track I’ve released yet and I couldn’t be happier to be signing it to Drumcode.”

Label head Adam Beyer has played the tune in a number of his live sets and on a few episodes of Drumcode Radio. Other supporters of the song include Oliver Heldens, Bart Skils, Joris Voorn, Monika Kruse, Wax Motif, and Charles D.

A few favorites of mine from Eli Brown include “Desire”, his “Moving / Don’t You Want Me” EP with Love Regenerator (also known as Calvin Harris), and his remix of “San Frandisco” by Dom Dolla.
