Simon Doty – Soulflow ft. Ursula Rucker (Original Mix)
Teaming up once again are Simon Doty and Ursula Rucker on the melodic house and techno track “Soulflow”. A driving bassline and striking piano chords are combined with Rucker’s vocals in the release from Above & Beyond’s record label Anjunadeep. The pair previously worked together in January 2022 on “Hometown” from Doty’s EP of the same name.
One of the first times the song was played was during Simon Doty’s back to back set with Marsh at Anjunadeep Open Air: Los Angeles during Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 500 at Christmas Tree Lane in Exposition Park.
Supporters of the track include Above & Beyond, Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Nora En Pure, Solardo, Farius, Amy Wiles, and Charlie Lane.
With the release comes the announcement of Doty’s debut album called “Universal Language”, set to be released in April. Also announced was his Universal Language tour starting next month, with stops at Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles on Friday February 24 and Bang Bang in San Diego on Saturday February 25.
Last year, Toronto based Simon Doty released songs like “Touch The Sky” with Marsh, a remix of “Heaven” by Oliver Schories and Fredrik Ferrier, and “Slowwave”.
Philadelphia native and spoken word artist/poet Ursula Rucker has previously collaborated with artists such as Josh Wink on “Sixth Sense”, Sander Kleinenberg and Kraak & Smaak on “The Journey”, and Alix Perez on “Intersections”.
