Hello Yves! How’s your day going so far?

Hey! It’s going good thank you. I had a week off after my last fashion show and I’m back on the grind this week which is nice.

What would you say was your biggest accomplishment of 2022?

That’s a tough one. I think the launch of Interlink has to take first place. It’s a childhood dream to have my own label – it was tough couple of months pulling it all together but I’m so glad I did.

“Interlink” is the title of your new infectious four track EP. What was your favorite part in creating this collection?

Actually the whole process was really nice for me. I wanted to really express myself with this record and get some angst out. I felt free during the writing process and I had a lot of fun with it and I think that translates well.

The EP was released on the imprint you recently founded in Interlink Records. What was your main inspiration in starting your own record label?

It’s always been on my bucket list but the reason it felt like the right time is because I feel like we’re in a bit of a dance music limbo right now. It’s partly due to the fact that the music industry is still recovering and promoters and labels aren’t taking risks. We’re seeing a lot of resurgences and some producers are getting really creative with pushing genres forward which is all really great but there isn’t a lot of widely accessible experimentation. I wanted to create another space and platform to try to push that into the public eye.

What does 2023 have in store for you?

Lots of music! Some really exciting collaborations and partnerships. I want to do a sound installation too which I’ve got some cool ideas for! There’s also the album which has gotten started this year but that’s top secret.

Favorite song of 2022:

I reeeeally love Vigro Deep’s remix of Obonjayar – Sugar.

Best track to play at peak time:

I really like to have fun when I DJ, one track that always turns up the levels at peak time is Mr. Oizo – Positif, used wisely it can turn a club dance floor into a rave really quickly.

Producer(s) and/or vocalist(s) you’d most like to work with:

There are so many! Some I am already working with this year which is really exciting. I really love cutting edge vocalists like FKA twigs and of course Bjork, exploring a project like this would be amazing also got my eye on a couple of great rappers. There are of course too many producers to mention but I’d really like to work with some of the producers that influenced me growing up, heads like Floating Points, George Fitzgerald, Joy O, Rude Kid, Maniac, Guido ,and Peverelist. Also, it would be absolutely incredible to work with Jon Hopkins!

Upcoming artist(s) to watch for in 2023:

There are so many! I’ve also had the pleasure of receiving demos which is a really nice part of having a label now. NullDaSensei is absolutely incredible, got some really killer music! Also Otus has been smashing it and has some absolute screamers in the bank. Also some great stuff coming from Conair and my old friend Image is set to make a splash this year.
