Skrillex – Don’t Get Too Close (Album)

Let’s say you released your first album in almost 10 years on Friday called “Quest For Fire” and played a sold out show at Madison Square Garden on Saturday with Fred again.. and Four Tet. How do you follow that up? Well, if you’re Skrillex, you obviously release a second album in as many days titled “Don’t Get Too Close”…during the Madison Square Garden show!

This time around, Los Angeles based DJ and producer Sonny Moore teams up with 15 artists on the album from his OWLSA imprint and Atlantic Records. Included in the 12 track set from the Grammy Award winner are collaborations with Bobby Raps, Pink Pantheress and Trippie Redd, BEAM, Yung Lean and Bladee, Kid Cudi, Corbin and Chief Keef, Prentiss and Anthony Green, Justin Bieber and Don Toliver, Bibi Bourelly, and Swae Lee.

Of note is the title track with Bibi Bourelly, which also features Skrillex’s vocals for the first time in eight years. In 2015, his vocals can be heard on “Mind” with Kai as part of his Jack Ü project with Diplo from their Skrillex and Diplo present Jack Ü album.

Preceding the Madison Square Garden performance (which sold out in minutes) on Friday, Skrillex, Fred again.., and Four Tet played a set in the middle of Times Square from a school bus turned sound system for The Lot Radio.
