Sole Dosi – Social Distortion (Original Mix)

On June 20, 2023 by ocedm

After DJing at numerous clubs and fashion events around the world, Sole Dosi has released her debut track titled “Social Distortion”. The Italian DJ and producer uses a steady pumping bassline and brooding beats in her first song. Check out these videos of Sole Dosi playing the tune live over the past few months!

Sole Dosi says that “‘Social Distortion’ represents a techno minimalist production against the tide, inspired by the character of the early punk groups, in particular the figure of Joan Jett. In the text I say: “Free. But they call her Rebel” Which represents a reference to her famous phrase: “Other people will call me rebel, but I feel like I’m living my life and doing what I want to do. Sometimes people call that rebellion, especially when you’re a woman”.

The feeling I wanted to communicate through this track is just to not be intimidated by what other people want you to do, but always be yourself, even if they say you’re wrong, especially when you create something from your deeper monsters. Trust in the process means making noise.”

The song is part of the “KPAINS7” collection, which also includes tunes from Ango Tamarin and Efan Feekar, Shelley Johnson, M.F.S: Observatory and Lazy Ants, Bruce Zalcer, Blvck Materia, Raho, and Neil And I. The eight track set was put out on Dense & Pika’s London based imprint Kneaded Pains, which they founded in 2014.

In addition to playing in her home base of Milan, Maria Sole Dosi has played around the globe in cities such as Frankfurt, Belgrade, Madrid, Tenerife, and Ibiza. She also serves as the music curator for fashion brands like Armani, Genny, and Furla.
