44 Ardent – double shot flat white (Original Mix)
One of the artists I heard about for the first time this year was 44 Ardent back in the beginning of April with a track called “far gone“. The Australian is back on Mammal Sounds Records with a catchy track out now called “double shot flat white”. The song has some breakbeat vibes to go with his signature indie dance/lo-fi tune style that can be heard in his previous singles. It was released from the record label that was launched in 2018 in Sydney.
“I have been listening to a lot of heavier dance music, particularly the new Skrillex records, and sat down to write something with a bit more punch,” shares 44 Ardent. “Coffee is an essential part of making dance music at 7am, so when it came time to record lyrics the song became an ode to my favourite caffeinated beverage. Here is a poem about double shot flat whites written by a computer, which I think perfectly encapsulates my thoughts, enjoy!”
The Brisbane based artist has also released “bones (sinking like stones)” and “hold the world in your hands” over the past few months.
