HI-LO – Crescendo EP
Over the past two years, HI-LO has released an EP each year on Adam Beyer’s Sweden based record label Drumcode, first with “Hypnos” in 2021 and “Wanna Go Bang” in 2022. The Dutch artist follows suit this year in 2023 with a two track set titled “Crescendo”. Also consisting of “Open Your Mind”, the EP features dark melodies and pounding drums with a hint of breaks on the second tune.
Regarding the title track, Oliver Heldens shares “My aim was to craft something hypnotic, dark, and trippy while maintaining a melodic and groovy essence. Personally, ‘CRESCENDO’ is one of those tracks I can play on an endless loop without getting tired of it. It has been exhilarating to witness the overwhelming response to the track in my HI-LO sets, and in Adam’s sets at Timewarp Germany and Brazil.”
“After months of road testing and fine-tuning, I am beyond excited about the final result,” he says about “Open Your Mind”. “I’ve had a blast playing this track not only in my HI-LO sets but also in several ‘mainstage’ sets as Oliver Heldens.”
In addition to playing songs from the EP on Heldeep Radio, Oliver Heldens/HI-LO has dropped them at Ultra Music Festival in Miami (during his back to back set with deadmau5/testpilot), Los Angeles State Historic Park, Seismic Dance Event 5.0, CRSSD Proper NYE.
Danny Avila, Eli Brown, Bobina, Charles D, Shogun, 3LAU, have all supported tunes from the EP so far.
