Smalltown DJs & Joanna Magik – Energy ft. Techno Tupac (Original Mix)
Two Canadian artists in Smalltown DJs and Joanna Magik have made their debut on Dirtybird with the release of “Energy” featuring Techno Tupac. The two Calgary based artists use an infectious rhythms and tight percussion combined with hypnotic vocals. The catchy song was put out on Claude VonStroke’s record label, which he started in 2005 and has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
“We are stoked to collaborate on ‘Energy’ because it’s a juicy hybrid of our sounds and there’s no better word to describe the vibrancy of our respective DJ sets,” shares Smalltown DJs. “It’s a dream to have it released on Dirtybird.”
Smalltown DJs recently played the collaboration during their guest mix on Dirtybird Radio 403, with further support from Diplo on Records On Records 267.
Other tracks Pete Emes and Mike Grimes include their remix of “Where The Wild Things Are” by Zeds Dead and Illenium, “Concorde Groove”, and “Seen You Before”.
Joanna Majcherkiewicz has released songs like her “Got Something / Dancefloor” EP, “Run Run Run” with Plon, and “Who’s Your Babi”.
Los Angeles based Techno Tupac has worked with the likes of Kendoll on “What A Show”, OMNOM on “Skinny Jeans”, and FREAK ON and Morelia on “Heater”.
