TOKiMONSTA – Eats The Tale ft. Rochelle Jordan (Original Mix)
We might be more than halfway through the year and TOKiMONSTA is just releasing her first track of the year, but it has certainly been worth the wait. Her new song “Eats The Tale” features the vocal talents of Rochelle Jordan and is the first single from from TOKiMONSTA’s upcoming album. The tune with intricate drums and emotional lyrics was released through Young Art Records, the record label she founded in 2014.
“The concept visually is like that of an ouroboros — a serpent eating its own tail,” explains TOKiMONSTA. “However, I’ve done a pun where it’s about eating your own tale (a story). Many times we consume false stories/make-believe/lies, not realizing those stories eventually consume us until we disappear. Our sense of self is gone since we have chosen to believe in ‘tales.’ Beautiful, but tragic — the things we believe to make us feel better, but it’s worse for us in the end.”
Los Angeles based Jennifer Lee is known for tracks like “Realla” featuring Anderson .Paak and “Steal My Attention”, and released her album “Oasis Nocturno” in 2020.
Rochelle Jordan, a native of London raised in Toronto and now living in Los Angeles, has worked with Snakehips on “Sumthin Crazy” and Keys N Krates on “What You Done”, and released her “Play With The Changes” album in 2021.
