Defunk – The Voyage (Album)
Defunk has already released four albums, but it has been almost 10 years since his last collection. The Canadian DJ and producer’s fifth set is called “The Voyage”, crafted with funk beats, heavy basslines, and soulful melodies. The 14 track album was released on Westwood Recordings, the Vancouver based imprint launched in 2013 by Nick Middleton of The Funk Hunters duo.
The intriguing set consists of “The Departure”, “Blast Off”, “Whiplash” featuring LIINKS, “Falls Apart” featuring RUSUR, “Coming In Hot”, “Another Planet”, and “Losing” featuring Lilly Fangz and Willdabeast. Also included are “Waves” with Taylr Renee, “Sacrtice” with ero808, “All Your Love”, “Coming Back Down”, “Stay”, “The Return”, and “Sunrise”.
“I can finally release my first full-length album in almost 10 years,” shares Defunk. “I’ve never worked so hard on such a large project, with so much of my heart poured into every song. ‘The Voyage’ is a very personal 14-song concept album that tells the story of my evolution, both personal and musically, through the pandemic and into my new role as a parent. The voyage will be released on Westwood Recordings, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.”
Calgary native Logan Anderson will be starting his The Voyage tour this week, with a stop at Arkadia in Las Vegas on Saturday November 4.
