ROSSY – Don’t Say (Hex Cougar Remix)
ROSSY released her six track “Heavens Door” EP earlier this year in February on HARD Recs, with one of the standout songs being “Don’t Say”. Los Angeles based DJ and producer Hex Cougar has now given it his twist with crisp beats and uplifting synths combined with ROSSY’s echoing vocals.
On selecting Hex Cougar to remix the tune, ROSSY says that “‘HEAVENS DOOR’ was my first EP and it was so special to me. I’ve been doing my debut tour all year in support of the EP, and I have so many incredible artists and friends touring with me that I thought it would be amazing to have them remix my EP. I’m excited to start with this track with Hex, because ‘DON’T SAY’ is such a deeply personal song to me, and Hex is an AMAZING producer—and a friend—that I have a lot of respect for. So, getting to combine those elements just makes this so special to me.”
“For this remix, I really wanted to create something totally different than what I usually make,” shares Hex Cougar. “My music is usually super dark and moody, so I thought it would be fun to try and write something super euphoric and playful while still channeling that underlying heaviness that’s characteristic of all my music. I took a lot of inspiration from one of my biggest idols, Rustie, and the beat and chords in the beginning are heavily influenced by Playboi Carti’s music, as well.”
Alison Wonderland recently supported the remix on Radio Wonderland 344.
