OceanLab – Satellite (Seven Lions Remix)
Seven Lions’ relationship with Above & Beyond goes back to 2011 when he won a remix competition for the trios track “You Got To Go” featuring Zoë Johnston. With a number of remixes of the British group’s own songs as well as other tunes from their Anjunabeats record label under his belt since then, Seven Lions puts his melodic dubstep twist on OceanLab’s 2004 hit “Satellite”. OceanLab is the side project of Above & Beyond’s Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamaki with London based singer/songwriter Justine Suissa. Santa Barbara native Jeff Montalvao uploaded an unofficial remix of the tune on his SoundCloud more than 12 years ago, with his version now part of a special project from OceanLab.
The remix serves as the third single from the ‘OceanLab: The Anthology’ project (following Above & Beyond’s 2023 Progressive Mix of “Satellite” and Genix’s remix of “Beautiful Together”), “which celebrates the legacy of the iconic trance group through a series of new remixes, a digital compilation, and a limited edition vinyl box set product.”
Seattle based Seven Lions will be playing at Countdown NYE 2023, which takes place Saturday December 30 and Sunday November 31 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino.
