Wh0, Mark Knight, & James Hurr – Turn Me Deeper ft. Kathy Brown (Extended Mix)

On January 28, 2024 by ocedm

When Wh0, Mark Knight, and James Hurr heard that noted singer Kathy Brown had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer near the end of last year, the guys sprung into action to release “Turn Me Deeper” featuring her vocals. The original was put out in 1994 from a trio called Praxis, of which Brown was the singer of the project alongside producers Cevin Fisher and David Shaw.

With the release of the catchy house song from Toolroom Records, all those involved “decided to release this record with all profits going to Kathy’s ‘GoFundMe’ campaign to help pay for her health care fees. All the original writers have allocated all publishing earnings, with the artists and Toolroom also pledging all of their royalties, in the quest to get Kathy back on the road to a full recovery.”

Mark Knight and Wh0 played a back to back livestream set to help fundraise for the cause last week, where they opened up with the collaboration. Wh0 also played the tune during their radio show Wh0 Plays Sessions 106.

Supporters of the song include Oliver Heldens, Tiesto, EDX, Joel Corry, Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, Mike Williams, Dombresky, ACRAZE, Merk & Kremont, Ferreck Dawn, MK, Plastik Funk, Leftwing : Kody, Benny Benassi, Bexxie, Cloverdale, Danny Howard, Judge Jules, Kristian Nairn, Lumberjack, Majestic, Pete Tong, Sister Bliss, and TCTS.

United Kingdom based duo Wh0, recently revealed to be Robert Chetcuti and Tom Cross, are a Grammy nominated group with tracks like their “Deeper” EP, their “Feels”, EP, and “Believer” featuring Kathy Brown.

Favorites of mine from Mark Knight of England, who also has a Grammy nomination to his name, include “The Music Began To Play” with Armand Van Helden, his “Untold Business” album, and “Tonight” with featuring Chenai and Mr. V.

Songs of Londoner James Hurr to take a listen to are “Boogie Down” with Wh0, “Vibe Like That” with Simon Field featuring Georgia Meek, and “Till We Break It Down” with Tasty Lopez.

South Carolina native Kathy Brown’s soulful vocals have been heard on “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher” with Revival and GeO Gospel Choir, “Burn” with Brookes Brothers and Kove, and “Voodoo Magic” with Major Boys.
