John Askew & Shelby Merry – Steady & Stronger (Extended Mix)

On May 12, 2024 by ocedm

Back in 2013, Shelby Merry self released her album called “Young Guns”. Included in the 9 track set was a song called “Steady & Stronger”, which caught the attention of English DJ and producer John Askew who has now put his tech trance touch on it. The soulful vocals from the Ohio born/Nashville based singer and songwriter are still kept, with a pummeling bassline and piercing synths added throughout. The single was released from Black Hole Recordings, which was started in 1997 in the Netherlands.

One of the first times John Askew played the collaboration was during his set at A State Of Trance in Rotterdam in February. Aly & Fila, Maarten De Jong, JES, Photographer, Ronski Speed, and Simon Patterson are a few early supporters of the tune.

In 2022, John Askew also took Shelby Merry’s 2014 song “When The Darkness Comes” and gave it a club ready transformation.
