Shlump – Drum Beats Go Like (Original Mix)
Joining REZZ’s record label HypnoVizion for the first time is Shlump with a weird and wonky bass tune called “Drum Beats Go Like”. Brain melting basslines, shimmering synths, and hypnotic beats are used in his new single. The tune in his ‘alien bass’ style was released through the record label REZZ launched in October 2022.

“I was listening to a bunch of Aphex Twin and Squarepusher, and got inspired to try something different,” explains Michael Petzel. “I thought it would be cool to do a track that took inspiration from that style of drum work. When I listen to old IDM one of the things that stands out to me is it’s unpredictable and exciting because the track goes places you never imagined. I wanted to make something that had this type of effect fused with some heavy bass. This is the basic thought process and intention I had when making ‘Drum Beats Go Like’.”
The Santa Cruz based DJ and producer will be performing at EQ in San Diego on Saturday June 15, alongside MYTHM.
