Showtek – 360 Blue (Album)
Back in the day (at least for me), Showtek was one of the first artists that got me into hardstyle. Active since 2001, some of my favorites from Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen include “FTS”, “RockChild” featuring MC DV8, “Generation Kick & Bass”, and “Breakbeat Junkie”. In the early 2010’s, the brothers started to veer from their hardstyle roots and collaborated with the likes of Tiesto, Hardwell, and Major Lazer.
Last November, the Dutch duo released their “360 Yellow” album, saying at the time that it was “focussing on the house and big room dance sound. Music that we have been releasing as Showtek for 10 years, very festival and club focussed, and lower to higher energy.”
Now returning to their hardstyle origins after 12 years, Showtek have revealed “360 Blue”, a 15 track album that includes a number of collaborations with some familiar talented producers and vocalists as well as remixes from D-Sturb and Adrenalize. The collection was released on Skink Records, which they started in 2013 in the Netherlands.
“This is pure hardstyle music”, share Showtek. “We built a legacy in this genre, and have a huge amount of fans worldwide that have been listening to us since day 1. After taking a 12 year break from the genre, we have reignited it with new gained experience, a fresh approach, more mature but still Showtek. Melodic, anthemic, and with a message. This is high energy!”
The album consists of “Dear Hardstyle” with Earl St. Clair, “Real One”, “Come Back Home” with Zany featuring DV8, “Colours”, “Spaceman (I Always Wanted You To Go)” with DJ Isaac, “Grow Up” featuring City Fidelia, “Legends” with Sub Zero Project and Doktor, and their 360 Blue Edit of “Mirror Mirror” with Steve Aoki and Jem Cooke.
Also included are “XTC” with Wildstylez featuring Jodapac, D-Sturb’s remix of “We Speak Music Again”, Adrenalize’s remix of “Dream”, “Rager” with Radical Redemption featuring The 27s, “Hardcore Vibes”, and “Heaven Or Hell”.
On Friday July 5, Showtek will be playing at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood alongside Frontliner and Yosuf, presented by Basscon.
