Savej – Solstice (Ruby Chase Remix)

On June 25, 2024 by ocedm

It’s quite appropriate that Ruby Chase released her remix of “Solstice” by Savej on the day of the summer solstice (last Thursday, for those keeping track at home). The original mix was part of the Louisiana artist’s six track collection of the same name released in 2020.

Keeping parts of Savej’s style of throat singing called Kargyraa in her version, Ruby Chase adds in her own ethereal vocals, elements of world bass, and tribal beats throughout the song. The spellbinding and mesmerizing tune was released through Gravitas Recordings, which was launched in 2011 in Austin.

“Solstice takes us on a journey into the deep temple caves of initiation,” the Nevada City based artist shares. “It’s rhythmic driving percussion and dancing vocals, we can experience more of ourselves. This is a rite of passage for the summer solstice to align with your ancestors to be all that you are here to be.”

Ruby Chase has worked with the likes of LSDREAM and Xotix on “Elastic”, AHEE on “Under The Sun”, and Far Out on “Lost With You”.
