Vel – There Is Always A Solution (Album)
I came across a track from Vel’s debut album a few weeks ago called “There Is Always A Solution” and instantly knew I had to put the whole set on the site once it was released. The song I heard was “Ain’t We Mermaids” with Anetha, and I’ll give you a warning that it’s quite a doozy! Pummeling basslines, tribal drums, and hypnotic rhythms are used throughout the impressive 10 track set set. The album was released on Mama Told Ya, which was launched in 2019 by Anetha.
The collection consists of “The Babe”, “Humans in Cafe”, “Xanax Introspection”, “Bpm Anxiety”, and “Pop Tribe”. Also included are “Ain’t We Mermaids” with Anetha, “I Don’t Care”, “Ambient Core”, “Deep Tracks Don’t Sell”, and “Oh La La”.
Originally from Rabat in Morocco, Jennifer Parienté left home at the age of 18 to move to Lyon in France. Now based in Paris, Vel has played at venues like HÖR in Berlin, Blitz Club in Munich, Le Sucre in Lyon, and Rex Club in Paris.
French DJ and producer Anetha, also known as Anna Moreau, will be playing at RE/FORM Winter 2024 on Saturday December 7 at a Los Angeles location to be arranged. The show is presented by Synthetik Minds, Dirty Epic, and 6AM Group.
