Monocule & LAMAS – Sign (Extended Mix)
In March 2021, Nicky Romero launched a livestream series on Twitch called demo:drop, where unsigned artists could submit their tracks and receive feedback. In demo:drop episode 6, the Dutch artist was impressed with a submission from Brazilian producer LAMAS called “Your Eyes“, with Protocol Recordings A&R manager Jorik van de Pol also noting that it would match with Romero’s deeper alias Monocule. Romero then put his touch on the tune which would be released three months later.
Three years later, the guys have teamed up once again on another melodic house and techno track called “Sign”. The single with a driving beat and intriguing vocals was released through Romero’s Protocol Recordings, which was started in Amsterdam in 2012.
Nicky Romero selected the track as the Protocol Spotlight on Protocol Radio 644 and played it again on 645. Early supporters of the song include Afrojack, Cuebrick, JES, Nathassia, and Shogun.
This year, Nick Rotteveel has performed around the world in countries like Peru, Chile, Canada, Mexico, England, Romania, Spain, Italy, and Germany.
Now based in Portugal, Juiz de Fora has played around his home country in places like Privilège Brasil, Danke Club, and Fresh Festival.
