On January 29, 2025 by ocedm

Three years after the release of her debut album “I Hope It Lasts Forever”, Japanese artist Qrion has revealed her second collection called “We Are Always Under The Same Sky”. Momiji Tsukada, a native of Sapporo now living in Austin, uses heartfelt melodies and intriguing vocals through the 10 tracks. The evocative set was put out on Anjunadeep, which was launched in 2005 in London by Above & Beyond.

“This album is a deeply personal reflection of my journey through some of the most challenging times in my life, including loneliness, addiction, and the struggle to rebuild myself during the pandemic,” shares Qrion. “It represents my emotional and mental transformation from hitting rock bottom to finding self-love and forgiveness. The process of collaborating with amazing vocalists and working with Zee to bring my memories to life through visuals was significant. Every track and piece of artwork holds a personal story, and I hope these songs not only resonate with you but also offer a sense of connection.”

The album consists of “Lean Into Light” featuring English artist pinkpirate, “Miyanosawa”, “Keep On Moving Up”, “Hush My Heart” featuring South East London native Josie Man, and “Goa”. Also included are “Pushing Up” with Australian Blake.08, “Wayside” featuring Josie Man, “Ice Palace”, “I Like You A Lot”, and “Sad Song” featuring Korean artist Didi Han.

Songs have been supported by the likes of Above & Beyond, Nora En Pure, Cosmic Gate, Yotto, Solarstone, Kyau & Albert, Gabriel & Dresden, Sultan + Shepard, Don Diablo, Danny Howard, Judge Jules, Farius, Eelke Kleijn, Luttrell, Estiva, HAYLA, Ronski Speed, HANA, Hausman, Laura van Dam, Chicane, AVIRA, Nicky Elisabeth, Riordan, and Jerro.

The artwork accompanying the album was created by animator and illustrator Zee Yorke, a graduate of California Institute of the Arts.
