Maddy O’Neal – Alive (Mary Droppinz Remix)
Moving from Omaha to Los Angeles and joining the show business industry might sound like the background of Penny from The Big Bang Theory, but that’s the route that Mary Droppinz took as well in a roundabout way. Initially working in marketing (including stints with Native Instruments and Desert Hearts), Alyssa Johnson decided to pursue her music career full time in 2020 and hasn’t looked back, playing at festivals such as Same Same But Different, Escape: Halloween, HARD Summer, EDC Las Vegas just last year alone.
For her first track of 2025, Mary Droppinz takes on a song from Maddy O’Neal’s 2024 album called “Vital Signs” in “Alive”. She transforms the original from a heavy bass tune into a breakbeat one with tight percussion and jaw dropping basslines. The track is part of the “Vital Signs Remixed” album, which also features versions from Skysia, Steller, Lizzy Jane, and more.
A graduate of IO Music Academy in Hollywood who recently launched her own Virtual DJ University, Mary Droppinz will be playing at Lightning in a Bottle, place Wednesday May 21 through Sunday May 25 at Buena Vista Lake.
If you can’t wait until then, she will also be playing at Arc’Teryx Backcountry Academy Music Series 2025 at Kitchen 53 in Mammoth Lakes on Saturday March 8, with support from UmAmi and Dust and Beau.
