Vicetone & Linney – Opposites (Original Mix)
If you listened to Vicetone’s 2024 End Of The Year Mix a few months ago, you might remember hearing their latest song with Linney called “Opposites”. The Dutch duo use thick kicks and infectious melodies along with the hypnotizing vocals of the Los Angeles based artist in their new release that has been sitting in their hard drive for over 10 years (!). The track was put out on Departed Records, which Vicetone started in 2023.
“We love writing music that tells a story and evokes emotions,” the guys say. “With ‘Opposites,’ we wanted to capture that unexplainable connection between two people who shouldn’t work on paper but just do. Combining soaring melodies and Linney’s powerful vocals brings this concept to life.”
Linney shares that “Opposites” is about the magnetic nature of a relationship that works without any explainable logic besides how two puzzle pieces seem to fit so perfectly. On paper, we’re polar opposites, but in reality, you’re everything I never knew I needed and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Originally from Groningen and now based in Nashville, childhood friends Ruben den Boer and Victor Pool have been behind some old school favorites of mine like “No Way Out” featuring Kat Nestel, “Tremble”, and their remix of “Sparks” by Fedde Le Grand and Nicky Romero featuring Matthew Koma.
Favorites of mine form North Carolina native Caitlin Linney include “Act of God” with Layton Giordani and Sarah de Warren, “Line In The Sand” with SCRIPT, and “Desire” with Nicky Romero and TELYKast.
