Helang – Hits Different (Original Mix)
HILOMATIK released its “A-Sides” EP earlier this month, a 7 track showcase of peak time and minimal techno from a variety of producers. One of the standouts to me is a hard hitting tune from Helang called “Hits Different” with its crisp percussion and driving rhythms. The collection also includes tracks from the likes of Frank Arvonio and Deus Deserto, PAGANO, Modeā, Dok & Martin, Alex Lentini and STOMP BOXX, and Township Rebellion and Roemisch. The EP was put out on the record label started by Oliver Heldens in January 2023.

Helang says that “I feel like I always am, but especially lately, living life through a lens of discovery, adventure, and seduction. When I sit down and write music, I am the most inspired by how I feel connected to the art of mystery. The small things that can make us get up and dance and be ourselves is the core purpose of my craft, and “Hits Different” is an attestment of that. It’s a really powerful feeling when you listen to a certain song and it can bring back so many nostalgic feelings whether they remind you of a memory or person.”
