Oliver Heldens & Julia Church – Ruins (Original Mix)
A familiar song in sets of Dutch DJ and producer Oliver Heldens over the past six months, “Ruins” with South African vocalist Julia Church has now officially been released. The Rotterdam native uses strong piano chords and trancy synths combined with the heartfelt and haunting vocals of the Durban native. The song was released on Ministry of Sound Recordings, which was started in London in 1993.
Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, Afrojack, W&W, R3hab, KSHMR, Lucas & Steve, Skytech, ALOK, Firebeatz, Laura van Dam, Sam Feldt, D-wayne, Illenium, Nathassia, and TCTS have all played the song.
Oliver Heldens has performed in Italy, Canada, Spain, Chile, and Colombia in just the month of May alone.
One of my favorite vocalists over the past few years, London based Julia Church has been heard on songs like “Resonate” with John Summit and Kaskade and “Go Back” with John Summit and Sub Focus (both from John Summit’s 2024 debut album “Comfort In Chaos”), and “Embers” with CamelPhat and Shimza (from CamelPhat’s 2023 album “Spiritual Milk”) .
