Floret Loret x Havoc – Unfold (Original Mix) + Interview

On June 20, 2025 by ocedm

Joining forces for the first time are Floret Loret and Havoc on a glitchy and bass heavy song titled “Unfold”. Florida based Fernando Martin Loret de Mola and Texas based Grant Curtis blend their signature gritty and organic styles together in this new cinematic and experimental bass tune.

Read on for an interview with Floret Loret and Havoc as they talk about how they connected on the track, the meaning behind the title of the song, the creative process with each other, and more!

What’s up, HAVOC and Floret Loret! Thank you for your time in answering a few questions. What have you guys been up to today?

Floret Loret: Hi, what’s up! I’m doing well, just got back from a trip and recuperating.

Havoc: I am currently in the middle of moving and right now I’m trying to find the light at the end of the tunnel. Moving in Texas during mid June was not a smart idea on my end hahah. All of my studio equipment is still packed up so I’ve been playing a bunch of guitar and re-learning some Led Zeppelin songs.

Both of you joined forces on a new single called “Unfold”. How did you guys first get in touch with each other and what was the inspiration behind the track?

Floret Loret: We met through his manager originally then shared a bunch of tunes and our love for the dark souls games lolol.

Havoc: Honestly my manager and I are big fans of FLs work. We had been jamming his music for a bit before reaching out. Eventually we shared some WIPs with each other and then I sent him a little playlist of some ideas I had for us to go off of. The original title was “The Winter”. I was wanting to write something that would keep “blooming” and keep progressing as the song went on.

What is the meaning behind the title of the song?

Floret Loret: We were trying to come up with a good word that matched the feeling of the tune. Originally it was winter then when Havoc told me about his inspiration for the tune, we brainstormed a new title.

Havoc: Unfold. I imagine a tree growing, thorough all the seasons. It constantly loses its leaves to grow them back again. Parts of it has to die for it to grow. I feel we nailed that in the song. Parts of the song leave and then come back later on. Parts of the song swell with layers just to shed them and go back to the roots.

What was the creative process like in going back and forth sending ideas to each other?

Floret Loret: It was pretty fluid, he sent over the first draft, I added more stuff to it and bounced ideas back and forth for a few days. We cranked it out in a few weeks.

Havoc: I sent him the very beginning of this song and what he sent back went in such a cool direction it really made me question where to go. I didn’t want to repeat any sections but I wanted to hold onto some of the essence of it. It took me a while to come up with my part (the bridge after the 1st drop and then 2nd drop). One night I stayed up really late watching The Fountain by Darren Aronofsky and I was so inspired by the music and the story that in my state of delusion I wrote what is now the 2nd half of Unfold.

Anything that you guys can share with us coming up for you this summer?

Floret Loret: I got a huge show in the summer, playing Mission Ballroom in Denver for the first time with Zeds Dead!

Havoc: I’m currently working on a little something to celebrate my birthday (June 29th) at the end of the month. I’ve wrapped up an EP that I can honestly say I’m proud of. Which is a funny feeling. I also have some shows on the horizon that I cant wait to get out and play.
